Seeking the presence of God

Chloe: when we are spiritually hungry, we need to spiritually eat. If we don't we will not be spiritually healthy.

Mary: remain in God's presence. Stay connected.

SY: allow ourselves to be "toasted" like belacan for God to bring out the fragrance in us. God is putting us through a process to make us fragrant for him.

Verses to encourage

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

Romans 8:28 NIV
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I desire mercy not sacrifice.

Matthew 9:10-13 NIV
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples.

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and `sinners'?"

On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

But go and learn what this means: `I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Let us be thankful for God's grace and mercy and let us be gracious and forgiving to others in return!

How is our heart?

Denise:

A prayer of rededication.

Psalm 51:10-12, 17 NIV
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. [11] Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. [12] Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. [17] The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
